Working Waveband
The thermal imager can receive infrared wavelengths: short wave (1 ~ 2.5μm), medium wave (3 ~ 5μm), long wave (8-14μm). Different wave bands require different detectors.
Detector
The infrared detector is a device that converts infrared radiation into a measurable signal, and is the core key component of the infrared machine. Uncooled infrared detectors are mainly divided into vanadium oxide and amorphous silicon.
Resolution
Resolution refers to the number of pixels on the detector, generally 160*120px, 384*288px, 640*480px, 1024*768px. The higher the resolution, the higher the image resolution and the finer the picture quality, the higher the system cost. Resolution has the greatest impact on product price.
Black body
A black body is an idealized object that can absorb all external radiation without reflection or transmission at any temperature. Black body is used as a reference source for temperature measurement in production.
Frame rate
It refers to the number of frames that can be captured, processed and displayed in 1 second by a thermal imager, and the unit is Hz (Hertz). How many frames are "refreshed" per second? The higher the image frame rate, the smoother the video image, the faster the sensor response, the higher the processing speed of the internal circuit, and the higher the achievable frame rate.
Focal Length (F)
The distance from the center of the lens to its focal point, usually expressed in”F”, and the common unit is mm. The larger the focal length, the greater the image can be clearly imaged.
Field of view (FOV)
Indicates the maximum spatial angle range that can be observed when the position of the thermal imager is fixed.
Angle Field of View (IFOV)
Also known as angular resolution, the ability of the thermal imager to detect the minimum distance between two adjacent targets (unit: milliradian, mrad).
