What is an Infrared Detector?
Infrared detectors use sensors that respond to infrared radiation and are electronic devices that detect and measure infrared radiation. The sensitivity of the emitter allows the measurement of infrared radiation. The optical system focuses the infrared radiation of the target onto the focal plane array of the infrared detector, and the infrared focal plane detector converts the infrared radiation signals of varying strengths into corresponding electrical signals, and then amplified and processed into video signals, which are sent to video monitors for display, which is the entire process of infrared thermal imaging.
How do infrared detectors work?
Infrared detectors can detect infrared radiation signals emitted by objects, making it possible to detect targets in the absence of visible light or obstacles. If you look through an infrared sensor, you will see the infrared appear on the sensor in the form of thermal imaging. The sensor converts thermal radiation into infrared thermal image. For example, if we use an infrared detector and point the sensor at a fire, we will see the red color in the center of the fire spread out to yellow, green, and then blue on the pseudocolor image of infrared thermal imaging.
