The main structure

The cooled infrared thermal imaging camera mainly consists of the following four parts:

1. Optical system

2 detectors

3. Refrigeration device

4. Signal processing and control system

Optical system

The optical system is the core part of the cooled infrared thermal imaging camera. Its main function is to focus the infrared radiation of the detected object onto the detector to form an image. The optical system consists of convex lenses, reflectors and filters. Among them, convex lenses and reflectors generally use single crystal materials such as zinc selenide (SiZn) or cadmium fluoride (InZnCd), which have good optical properties and mechanical strength. Filters can be selected in different wavelength bands according to needs, such as 3-5μm and 8-12μm.

Detector

The detector is also an important part of the cooled infrared thermal imaging camera. The detector can convert the infrared radiation emitted by the object into an electrical signal and transmit it to the signal processing and control system for processing. Common detectors include indium germanium (InGaAs) detectors and mercury germanium (HgCdTe) detectors. Indium-germanium detectors can work in the 3-5μm band, and mercury-germanium detectors can work in the 8-12μm band.

Refrigeration unit

The refrigeration device is a key component of the refrigerated infrared thermal imaging camera. Since the work of the detector needs to be carried out under low temperature conditions, the main function of the refrigeration device is to reduce the temperature of the detector. Common refrigeration devices include refrigeration circuits and refrigerators. Among them, the refrigeration circuit uses thermocouples as the refrigeration source, which can reduce the temperature of the detector to about 50°C. Refrigerators can reduce the temperature to above -100°C. However, due to limitations in volume and power consumption, most refrigerated infrared thermal imaging cameras currently use refrigeration circuits.

Signal processing and control system

The signal processing and control system is the data processing and control core of the cooled infrared thermal imaging camera. It is mainly responsible for amplifying and filtering the signals collected by the detector, and transmitting the processed data to a monitor or computer for display or recording. At the same time, the control system can also control parameters such as the switch and temperature of the refrigeration device to ensure the normal operation of the refrigeration infrared thermal imaging camera.

Summarize

The cooled infrared thermal imaging camera is a high-sensitivity, high-resolution thermal imaging equipment. It mainly consists of four parts: optical system, detector, refrigeration device and signal processing and control system. Among them, the optical system is the core part of the refrigerated infrared thermal imaging camera, the detector and refrigeration device ensure its normal operation in low-temperature environments, and the signal processing and control system is the data processing and control core of the entire equipment. With the development of infrared thermal imaging camera technology and the maturity of refrigeration technology, refrigerated infrared thermal imaging cameras will become more popular and widely used.
